Hello fellow towing enthusiasts!  Les Narum here today to talk about some of our best-selling Blue Ox Tow Bars and how they help you have a good experience when towing another vehicle.

I’m one of the product specialists here at .  We spend all day answering questions about everything related to towing.  When we’re not answering questions we’re studying the latest product information from the manufacturers of some of the finest towing products sold today so that we’re always up to speed on the most current products, installation procedures and accessories to make your towing experience safe and enjoyable.

There are three different methods you can use when towing a vehicle.  You can use a trailer which keeps all four wheels of the towed vehicle off the ground.  You can use a dolly which keeps just the front two tires of the towed vehicle off the ground or you can use tow bars which keeps all four wheels on the ground.  The most popular method is the use of the tow bar. The tow bar has less equipment and takes up no more space unlike a trailer or a dolly.

While there are a number of good tow bars sold today, we think that Blue Ox makes a particularly good product.  There are also a lot of positive reviews online about Blue Ox Tow Bars from people that have used these products under a broad range of conditions.

There are three general types of tow bars available.   For today we’re going to talk about one of the three types called the self-aligning motorhome mounted tow bar.  We’ll get to the other two in the next few blogs posts.

We’re going to talk about three different Blue Ox tow bars that fit into this category.
The BX7445 Blue Ox Aventa LX motor home mounted tow bar, the BX4325 Aladdin and the newest model in the series, the BX7420 Avail

The Blue Ox Aventa LX has a ball and socket design that incorporates a spherical joint rather than the traditional bolted together flex joint.  This cutting edge design reduces wear points and allows for an extremely strong and durable attachment between the coach and the towed vehicle.  This unit has a gross trailer weight rating of up to 10,000 lbs.  This is made from a steel construction and is a hefty 42 lbs.   It incorporates an easy fold away system that stores on the back of the RV.  You can review the installation instructions here.

The Aladdin Tow Bar is the lightest tow bar that Blue Ox makes.  The aluminum design at 23 lbs. and the fact that it has a direct connect, fold-away design makes is a favorite among towing enthusiasts.  This class III model has a gross trailer weight capacity of 7,500 lbs.  It has a 2” shank size with a span width of up to 38”.  7 foot long, 10,000 lb. safety cables are included and, like all Blue Ox products, is made right here in the good old USA.  You can review the installation instruction for this model here.

The new Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar is a terrific new addition to the motor home mounted series.  This Class IV series tow bar is designed to handle vehicles up to a hefty 10,000 lbs.  The advanced features in this unit include off-set triple lugs to better align towing forces, improved turning radius for better cornering and for smoother towing over rough roads.  Like our other motor home units this one also featuers easy fold away tow bar mounts and stores on the back of your RV.  This unit has a 2" shank size and comes in at a beefy 42 lbs.  It also includes 7 ft. 10,000 lb safety cables.  This is a beauty!  We've got an operator's manual and installation instructions you can look over by clicking here.

These are great products that can make towing another vehicle a real pleasure.  If you run into any questions about your Blue Ox Tow Bars by all means give us a call at 877-509-0719.  We handle most any question that comes up about these products.
